Personal Giclées - Frequently Asked Questions

This page is designed to answer the most common questions regarding our personal giclées. If you cannot find an answer to your question in this FAQ, please call 1-800-THE-NWTF or contact us by email at dmckie@nwtf.net.

What are my ordering options?

  1. Personal gicleés must be ordered online.
    • To place your order select the Personal Giclée product link below. If you have questions or concerns that are not covered here, call us toll free at 1-800-THE-NWTF between 9am and 5pm eastern time, and our knowledgeable staff will answer all your questions.
  2. Two finishing options:
    • Gallery Wrap – The canvas is stretched around a ¾ inch wooden stretcher frame with neatly folded corners. Suitable for any room or decor.
    • Custom Frame – We use the same frames on your personalized canvas print as our banquet art prints and giclées.
  3. Retouching services
    • We will make certain adjustments to your image free of charge to ensure the best reproduction quality. These include:
      • Remove red eye
      • Sharpen, brighten and enhance contrast
      • Correct color balance

File Submission Information

  1. Best file format, resolution and image size
    • For best results, set your camera to the highest resolution with the least amount of compression. We recommend digital camera images with a three megapixel resolution or more. Generally, the higher the resolution, the better the image, especially for larger canvas sizes. We do not recommend images from camera phones. If you're unsure of the image quality, upload the image anyway. We'll contact you if there’s an issue.
  2. Working with traditional prints
    • If you have an old photo that you wish to use, you will need to scan it and submit the electronic file. If you do not have a scanner, you can have the print scanned at a local print shop or quick printer. Have them save the file as a 300dpi JPG image, and then upload to us from your home computer.
  3. I have a studio photograph. Can you print from it?
    • Studio or professional photographs are copy protected and cannot be printed unless you can provide us with authorization from the studio or the photographer.
  4. Image check by artists
    • Our artists examine every submitted image for quality and compatibility with the size canvas ordered. If we notice something that might present a problem, a customer service representative will call you to discuss your order.
  5. Image resizing and cropping
    • We will crop or resize your image, if necessary, for the best fit on the canvas size you selected. If the image you submit will not work with the selected canvas dimensions, we will contact you with a suggested alternative.
  6. Proofing
    • We do not offer proofs. If you absolutely need to see a proof, additional charges may apply.

Shipping

  1. When will my order ship?
    • Canvases ship within 3 to 4 weeks from receipt of your image. If you need it sooner, we can handle special requests on a case by case basis.
  2. Ship to someone else
    • You may enter different shipping and billing addresses. We realize you may be shipping your canvas print as a gift. As such, we will not contact the recipient, and the package will not include any price information.
  3. What happens if my canvas print is received damaged?
    • If your print is damaged when you receive it, we ask that you cut away a portion (about a 4-inch square) to return to us, and also to advise us by email. Upon receipt of the sample from the damaged canvas, we will reprint your order and send it to you at no additional cost.

Customer Service

  1. What happens if we do not like the product when we receive it?
    • We take every precaution to ensure that your canvas print is of the highest quality. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please call or email our customer service department. One of our representatives will assist you in resolving the complaint.
    • We pride ourselves on providing a quality product, however if you are not happy with your canvas print, notify us within 30 days of receipt. We will request you send us about a 4-inch square cut of the canvas, and upon receipt of the canvas piece, we will refund your purchase less the shipping fee.

Caring for Print

  1. How do I care for my canvas print?
    • Your canvas print uses high quality pigment inks and should only require dry dusting. Do not use water or any cleaners on the canvas as they could cause the inks to run.
